An Extraordinary Evening of Mind and Body Renewal at Daigo-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site

Daigoji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 1,150 years of history, offers a special setting where ancient traditions and spiritual devotion remain deeply alive. In this sacred space, we invite you to experience a new way of reconnecting with yourself and restoring balance to both mind and body.
During this special evening opening, guests will experience meditation yoga inside the Reihokan and Heiseikan halls, surrounded by the enchanting light of the night illumination. In front of the National Treasure, the Seated Yakushi Nyorai Buddha, and with five Important Cultural Property Buddhist statues behind them, participants will be immersed in a truly unique and serene atmosphere.
Our vision goes beyond a simple yoga session. We bring together meditation, breathing, yoga, food, sound, and light to create an integrated cultural experience that engages all five senses and offers a deeper connection to Japan’s spiritual heritage. Through mindful breathing and meditation, guests can relax and release tension, followed by seasonal shojin ryori—traditional Buddhist vegetarian cuisine—prepared with the blessings of nature, nourishing the body from within.
Just as Daigoji Temple’s celebrated cherry blossom viewing, known as Daigo no Hanami, once brought people together, we hope to share a new culture of well-being from Daigoji today—one that brings together Japan’s traditional culture and contemporary wellness, carrying these traditions forward into the future.
We warmly invite you to discover this truly one-of-a-kind experience of restoring balance, found only at Daigoji Temple. We look forward to welcoming you.
